I started my weight loss surgery journey on June 21st, 2016. I was 350 lbs at the time. Since that time, I’ve lost 107 lbs, pre-op and post-op loss included. I feel great an can do so much more (like walk for more than 10 minutes without stopping and being out of breath). I admit I’ve eaten things I shouldn’t have and I take full responsibility for it. I’m back on track and that is what matters the most to me.
I would’ve never lost this much weight without the surgery. I was on a slippery path to death. I tried to keep the weight off and I failed many times. I needed something to stop me permanently and I felt surgery was the only way. And it’s succeeded. I am now very mindful of what I eat and I sometimes forget to eat and drink water (I’m working on getting up my protein and water intake).
At the same time, I will say this: I’m getting way more attention from men at 243 lbs than I was when I was nearly 400 lbs. It’s quite bothersome that people thought little of me when I was much bigger but when I’m smaller I’m beginning to get noticed.
